AJ Farming and Homestead had the honour of hosting representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), and the Electric Power Corporation (EPC) for a community consultation and site visit as we prepare to submit our Renew Pacific grant concept note on April 28th. REnew Pacific is the Australian Government's investment in off-grid renewable energy for rural and remote communities across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.

The proposed project aims to bring renewable energy access to AJ Farming and Homestead and the neighboring off-grid farming communities in Savaii. This initiative represents the first opportunity for the farming community to gain access to energy solutions and to look towards a better future. 🔌💡

Introducing reliable, clean energy to AJ Farming and Homestead, alongside our off-grid communities will have a truly transformative impact. Access to electricity will ease the burden of daily tasks, improve living conditions, and enhance the overall quality of life for families who have long gone without power.

It will also directly support:
✅ Livelihood development through expanded agricultural productivity
✅ Improved safety, especially for women and children in isolated areas
✅ Strengthened food security with better storage, processing, and farming capabilities
✅ Climate resilience through sustainable, renewable energy solutions tailored to our local context

Receiving energy support through this project is a vital step in making AJ Farming and Homestead's long-term vision a reality:
